Organization Description

YMCA of Silicon Valley has been listening and responding to the most critical social needs in our community for over 150 years. We provide programs and services to strengthen the foundations of our community. We bring people together to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve our communities' health and well-being, and create opportunities to give back. Our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility guide us in our endeavor to strengthen community in the areas of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Health & Safety

Volunteers and interns are never left alone with K-8 students. A YMCA staff must be present at all times. The staff to student ratio at the elementary and middle school level is 1 staff per 20 elementary/middle school students. A typical after school staff team comprises of 4-5 supervising adults. The Site Director (Site Supervisor) will not supervise more than 4 SJSU students at one time, paired up with an elementary/middle classroom group.

All persons on school campus must abide by the health and safety guidelines of the Santa Clara County Public Health department as we continue operations during a pandemic. This includes completion of vaccination series and wearing of masks.
