Organization Description

Habitat for Humanity's purpose is to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope. Our vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Health & Safety

Students will be working on an active construction site. Hazardous Materials, Heavy machinery and heavy equipment will be present on site. They may also be asked to use a variety of power tools. Students will also be working outside at times in extreme temperatures.

Students will be overseen by crew leaders on site but that supervision may vary depending on the size of the group from day to day i.e. some groups may be larger than 8 people. Students will be shown how to do a task, and checked in on periodically.

  • KNOWN HAZARDS: The placement requires working with any hazardous materials, heavy equipment, or heavy machinery.
  • SUPERVISION: Students will be supervised less than 50% of the time.
  • SUPERVISION: Students' supervisor be responsible for overseeing more than 8 people.
