William C. Overfelt High School Football

Organization Description

Overfelt High School provides a safe, caring learning environment where students achieve the academic, aesthetic, personal and social development required to continue learning, pursue post-secondary education, compete in a changing job market, and participate in a multicultural democratic society.

Health & Safety

The students will utilize a range of equipment, including squat racks, dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, benches, and various weights, during their workouts. Proper technique will be shown and demonstrated before the students begin their workouts. Additonally, the students will engage in contact during football practice so risk of injury is possible.

The football field's physical location features uneven surfaces due to ongoing use. Cluttered spaces and heavy weights present additional hazards, especially with numerous football players using the equipment simultaneously.

The head coach will be present during the majority of the football practices. There will be 5 additional supervisors during football practice as well as in the weightroom.
