Organization Description

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service. interns may work in Patient Services programs such as the Look Good, Feel Good program and also assist with coordination of informational groups for patients. Youth education programs - planning & implementing; fundraising, team recruitment in high school. Looking for interns to assist with Cancer Study-3 (incidence rates). Interns must complete a minimum of 60 hours per semester. Interns must contact Victoria Young for interview for Fall 2013 semester.

Program Information

Students will help to create and deliver educational programs to the community working with patients.

Health & Safety

Participants at any Blood Drive event will be exposed to massive amounts of blood.

Service Learning students may get blood on their hands.
