Ridgeview High School

Program Information

Students interns would work with our staff and students through the school day. They would support students dealing with emotional and social issues typical to a high school student. We are a continuation high school and our students often lack resources and attention to meet their basic needs, so an intern would provide added support to these issues and become aware of what is offered in the community. As they are comfortable and show interest, they could offer social skills lessons in small groups with me and then also present to classrooms. Included would be linking to county social workers, probation, making referrals to outside agencies, supporting food and clothing pantry, employment search, college enrollment, etc. They would become familiar with trauma informed systems, restorative approaches, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Whatever interests they bring might be able to be incorporated.

We are looking for an individual who would be open to new experiences, have clear communication, ability to ask questions- they aren't supposed to know it all and flexibility with plans, keep a schedule unless emergency, plan to become part of our team.
