Program Information

UMatter Internship
The UMatter internship is an opportunity to be a positive role model on campus and to gain valuable experience. All majors and class standings are welcome to apply.

What to Expect: 

  • Create and give presentations on mental health topics you are passionate about
  • Gain professional development through provided trainings (e.g. Safe Zone Ally training, Mental Health First Aid, Wildcat ROAR) 
    • Weekly Team Meetings on Mondays from 4–6 p.m. 
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of UMatter events and programs 
  • Assist in advertising for events (e.g., student announcements, social media, poster design, etc.) 

The application for this placement consists of:

  • Your current resume 
  • A short letter of intent explaining why you would like to intern for UMatter 
  • A short video (i.e., 2—5 minutes) using a program like YouTube, Vimeo, Kizoa, or Slidely explaining why mental health is important and what it means to you. Use pictures and/or music, be creative, and have fun with it!
