Hamilton High School/Ella Barkley High School

BSW/MSW students will have the opportunity to:

• Assist with case management for attendance issues and academic concerns
• Conduct home visits
• Participate in SST's, IEP's, and 504 meetings
• Facilitate educational groups for high school students

Students will develop skills in working with student academic progress and interact with families when conducting home visits or parent meetings. Students will also gain knowledge in navigating the student information system Aeries. 

Prospective students should be flexible and willing to jump right in when interacting with high school students and their families. There will be times when student's can expect a scheduled day with different activities but those activities may need to be set aside in order to deal with a student in crisis. Appointments with students may be changed or rescheduled if students are absent or parents fail to show up. Students will be communicating with teachers via email and in person.
