Program Information

Student intern will manage the completion of psychosocial assessments, set goals with residents and their families, evaluate and document social and family information, assist residents healthcare decisions, assist in obtaining resources from community and social services agencies, develop strong working relationships with residents, medical staff and community and agency partners, assist in discharge planning and coordination with interdisciplinary team, counseling and in-service training. 

The student intern must show great attention to detail and show flexibility in response to the fast paced nature of the facility. The student should be able to adapt quickly to changes, show and use effective listening and communication skills, be able to de-escalate emotional situations, and hold tough conversations in a professional and empathetic way. The student must show good organization and time management and be open to learning.
