What do Social Workers at the Enloe Cancer Center do?

  • Assist patients and families with the emotional, social, and physical impact of cancer and those coping with advance illness
  • Provide guidance and support to help improve communication with family and friends
  • Support with the emotional impact of diagnosis and medical treatment
  • Offer practical assistance including information related to accessing basic needs such as food and housing and/or community resources that may enhance life
  • Engage with planning for the future, completing Advanced Directives, and education on advanced care planning
  • Collaborate with medical team in order to provide education and consultative services with barriers to care 
  • Assist staff by providing guidance, support, and debriefing needs
