- Psychiatry
- Support through service coordinators
- Home based wrap around support for children and families who need more intensive care
A student placed at Children's Behavioral Helath would have several possibilities that would include but are not limited to: contact with referring agencies, contact with parents and community agencies requesting services or collaborating on service provision, intake screening for medical necessity, managing a caseload as a case manager or a therapist, attending group supervision or clinical meetings where case reviews are conducted, working alongside a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist for treatment planning, written communication support: progress notes, assessments, problem lists, screening tools, etc.
A practicum student would need to have a willingness to learn. At times working with youth and families can feel overwhelming and the student would need to be able to ask for help as well as know there is a learning curve. The agency will provide shadowing opportunities as well as times when co-facilitation of services can be provided. Reliability and a level of professionalism is required.
