At Nation’s Finest, our mission is to support America’s military veterans and their families with a comprehensive approach to housing, health and employment that helps them achieve self-sufficiency and reach their full potential.

Program Information

Intern will be able to provide case management for veterans in psychosocial areas of need including housing, legal, mental health, and medical. 
Intern will be able to observe and participate in team meetings with facility staff.
Learn proper charting for agency documentation of services. 
Participate in periodic review and audit of client files and program evaluation. 
Assess life skills deficits and provide appropriate interventions and referrals to community supports. 
Assist veterans regarding college and career options, choices, and opportunities. 
Some family intervention and education. 
Paricipation in macro-level learning opportunities including community meetings and agency advocacy efforts. 

The student should be open to learning, have a positive attitude, ask questions, have empathy, cultural humility and awareness. Willingness to provide person-centered, trauma informed, whole-person approach to care. Maintains professional boundaries and follows agency code of conduct regarding professional communication.

Health & Safety

Our agency provides services to vetearns who are experiencing homelessness. Many of the veterans have higher rates of trauma, substance use and other mental health related challenges.
