Program Information

Strong Starts provides Specialty Mental Health Services in the environment that is most comfortable to the client and/or family: a school, community, home, or office setting.

Strong Starts serves youth up to age 21 with full scope Butte County Medi-Cal. Services are provided to help reduce the feelings and behaviors that make it challenging at home, with friends, or at school.

Strong Starts uses evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist young people with managing challenging emotions.

Strong Starts also provides Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). PCIT helps to improve the child and caregiver relationship by building attachment and coaching caregivers to respond consistently and predictably to the child’s needs and behaviors.
