Yuba City Unified School District

Organization Description

Yuba City Unified School District provides social work practicum students with opportunities to apply
classroom knowledge in a school-based setting under the supervision of a school social worker.
Students develop skills in strengths-based assessment, case management, crisis response, family
engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, advocacy, and culturally responsive
practice while supporting the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of a diverse student
population.

Successful students are flexible, dependable, organized, and eager to learn. They should be
comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment, demonstrate
professionalism and initiative, communicate effectively, ask questions when needed, and be
receptive to feedback and ongoing learning.
