Program Information

At The Peg Taylor Center for Adult Day Health Care in Chico, California, social workers act as a vital care coordinators and advocates to support the emotional well-being, safety, and independence of vulnerable adults and seniors. Working alongside a multidisciplinary medical team, they help participants with serious or chronic illnesses continue living safely at home rather than transitioning prematurely to nursing facilities.

Social worker interns will be doing pyscho-social assesments, personalized care planning, caregiving support, crisis intervention, safety monitoring, group and individual counseling, and helping navigate community resources.
