The Emily Shane Foundation empowers underserved middle school students to succeed through our SEA (Successful Educational Achievement) Program. We provide one-on-one after-school academic tutoring and mentorship to those struggling in school and at risk of falling through the cracks. Students “pass it forward” by doing a good deed for each session, promoting kindness and social responsibility. Our work fosters academic growth, builds confidence, and inspires lasting change. In Ventura County, we currently serve Rio Del Valle Middle School and may return to Ocean View Junior High in 2025–2026.

The FOTM archive includes oral histories, videotaped interviews, photographic portraits, and examples of artists’ work. This documentation and research also serve as the inspiration and core content for the cross-curricular in-school arts education outreach program Learning to See, our public Artist Spotlight Series, as well as various exhibitions and publications.
