The Office of Los Angeles City Councilman Joe Buscaino

The Office of Los Angeles City Councilman Joe Buscaino is seeking a policy intern to work closely with the Councilman's policy team. Councilman Buscaino is undertaking motions on a wide range of issues including police body cameras, sidewalks and homelessness as well as annual budget recommendations. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and research skills, an attention to detail, and a passion for bettering the lives of Council District 15's constituents. 

Intern responsibilities include:

• Providing support to the Field Team (Watts and Harbor Gateway), including attending community meetings, drafting research memos, etc.
• Drafting newsletter, website, and social media content
• Creating event flyers
• Walking the community with 311
• Help develop the Watts Youth Council
• Maintaining electronic and hard copy research files
• Providing administrative support to council staff
