CalFresh Outreach Program

Program Information

Under the direction of the CalFresh Outreach Coordinator, the CalFresh Outreach Intern will perform community outreach to low-income students at Cal State Dominguez Hills to promote CalFresh awareness. The CalFresh Outreach Intern will provide assistance to clients applying for CalFresh benefits to improve food security for low-income households and individuals. The CalFresh Outreach Intern will follow up with clients regarding completion of application, pending documents, interview appointments and case outcome. The CalFresh Outreach Intern will advocate on behalf of the client if any barriers arise. CalFresh Outreach Interns will also be managing social media accounts, conducting student education workshops, scheduling events, and organizing CalFresh Awareness Month (May) at CSUDH. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change in order to meet the needs of the program, and allow for High-Impact Practices that can benefit your further education and future career.
