Step Up Tutoring

Organization Description

Step Up Tutoring is a California based non-profit organization seeking to close the education gap, while developing enduring bonds and cultivating academic success through fun, online learning activities. We provide free virtual tutoring and mentorship to elementary school students in underserved communities. No experience is need to tutor. All training, support, oversight and resources are provided free through Step Up!

Program Information

Student/volunteers will be trained to tutor/mentor an elementary school student who they will meet with twice a week for 45 minutes via Zoom. Students will have the opportunity to take on more than one student if desired. Additionally, students may assist with other tasks to support the mission of step up such as recruiting, pedagogy, social media outreach and marketing, and programing, among other tasks.

Health & Safety

We are a completely remote program so there are no health concerns. All work and meetings, including training, is done virtually via Zoom, which is provided to all by Step Up Tutoring.

  • SAFETY: Students are NOT PERMITTED to take photos or video while on site.

Hours of operation 

Tutoring can be done both after 2pm during the week and also on weekends if preferred. Other task will be done during the week between 9am - 5pm.
