Richard J Donovan Correctional Facility (RJDCF) is one of the CA Deptartment of Corrections and Rehabilitation facilities that houses approximately 3000 inmate-patients. RJDCF has one of the largest health care systems in all of the CDCR institutions, with a large mental health department who employes recreational therapists amongst its staff which also include psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers. The mission of the California Correctional Health Care System (CCHCS) is to reduce unnecessary morbidity and mortality and protect the public health by providing inmate-patient timely access to safe, efficient, health care, and coordinate the delivery of medical care with mental health, dental, and disability programs. CCHCS strives to facilitate the successful reintegration of the individuals in our care back to their communities equipped with the tools to be drug-free, healthy, and employable members of society by providing education, treatment, rehabilitative, and restorative justice programs, all in a safe and humane environment.

Student will 1. Learn about OSHPD requirements 2. Particpate in a project start up process 3. Assist in the development of conceptual estimates for OSHPD project 4. Perform quantity take offs for local projects 5. Develop conceptual level project schedule for OSHPD project.
