Founded in 2005, the Alameda County Deputy Sheriffs Activities League (DSAL) is a nonprofit organization created to unite Alameda County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) personnel, citizens, and youth of Alameda County in the pursuit and implementation of initiatives that reduce crime, improve the lives of area residents, and enhance the health of the community. The Deputy Sheriff's Activities League provides a free, open-to-all boxing classes for children and adults, giving community members ages 10+ a chance to increase their fitness levels, learn boxing basics, and work their way up to advanced training if desired. Coaches, mentors and trainers focus on the fitness and discipline aspects of the sport and encourage participants that the lessons in the gym and the ring carry over into daily life. We support them while they are incarcerated and support them with resources after they are back into the community. We have adult services - they are probation officers that manage the adults. Juvenile Services- these probation officers manage the juvenile caseloads. Juvenile Facilities- is managed by our Deputy Chief, Superintendent , and the assistant. Grant writer Legislation analysis, Community Outreach Coordinator, Administration, and the Chief's offices are 9:00 - 5:00 positions. There is much to learn at the Probation department.

The Victim –Witness Assistance Division of the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office provides a variety of services for crime victims, witnesses, and their families as they work through the emotional trauma of their victimization.

We are aware of, and are concerned about, the problems that crime victims, witnesses and their families experience as a result of the victimization. Weeks, even months after the crime, many individuals still experience problems due to the crime. Our office is dedicated and designed to alleviate some of these issues.
