Organization Description

Street Level exists to serve the physical, mental, economic, and social health needs of Oakland's recently arrived immigrant community. We have a clinic, a nutritionist and herbalist, nutritious lunches, a job-matching service, and assistance enrolling in the social service system, all free and on-site. We also do outreach twice a week, providing nutritious breakfasts and information about our services to day laborers.

Program Information

Because our services are broad, we have a wide variety of service opportunities. We are looking for Spanish-speakers to do outreach with us, Spanish-speakers with an interest in social work or case management to work with our social service enrollment programs, and people of any language abilities to assist with cooking, and in our clinic.

RISK: Event Set-up - Risk includes but not limited to: Lifting, cuts, bruises, etc.
HIGH RISK: Health care services - Risk includes but not limited to: falling, needle sticks, medical exposure
HIGH RISK: Service is one-on-one, family/home based. If yes, please indicate under Special Site Instructions where meetings will take place: public location, on campus, etc.).
RISK: Serving and Preparation - risk includes but not limited to handling kitchen items, cuts, burns, lifting, etc.
HIGH RISK: Students will be working with "behaviorally challenged" populations
SAFETY (HIGH RISK): The location can be described as a high-crime area.
SITE REQUIREMENT: Students will be asked to sign a confidentiality waiver.
