CSU East Bay - Hayward Promise Neighborhoods

Organization Description

Hayward Promise Neighborhoods (HPN) is a collaborative partnership led by CSUEB working to ensure educational success and a safe, healthy, thriving community for all living in Hayward. HPN programs are designed to ensure that all children growing up in Downtown Hayward, South Hayward, the Jackson Triangle will have access to effective schools and strong systems of family and community support. Hayward Promise Neighborhoods funding expands existing local resources to be more accessible for Hayward Promise Neighborhood residents and creates new programs and services to support the local community.

Program Information

While we have programs that provide resources from cradle to career, we currently need the most support at our Fresh Food for Families and Warm Food for Families groceries and meals distribution programs.

Students will support the set-up and break-down of events, as well as support our team in distributing groceries and/or meals to the community.

Fresh Food for Families occurs on the 4th Monday of each month (or 3rd during holidays - May & Dec) from 1:30-3:30PM but volunteers are needed starting at 12PM. The distribution is located at Eden Greenway Park, 25625 Cypress Ave, Hayward, CA 94544.

Warm Food for Families occurs every Thursday from 2-4PM, but volunteers are needed starting at 1:30PM. The distribution is located at 680 W. Tennyson Rd., Hayward, CA 94545.
