Organization Description

Amnesty International is a global movement of people fighting injustice and promoting human rights. We work to protect people where justice, freedom, truth, and dignity are denied. Amnesty International is the world's largest grassroots human rights organization. We investigate and expose abuses, educate and mobilize the public, and help transform societies to create a safer, more just world.

Program Information

Students learn about - international human rights and humanitarian law - take collective action by participating in human rights campaigns - effective grassroots action - organizing for social change - lobbying federal and state representative Opportunities - to make a difference in the lives of those whose human rights have been abused - express solidarity with survivors of human rights abuses - be part of a local chapter of an international non-profit organization
