Organization Description

The mission of Trybe Inc. is to bring people together and provide meaningful spaces to connect and create beloved communities. Our goal is to thread Oakland communities together through catalytic events such as Family Friday and Second Saturday, after-school clubs and activities, youth outreach and mentorship, food distribution/justice, and the development of indigenous leaders, in particular young African-American men and parent-leaders. Since the onset of the pandemic our organization and the needs that our community faces has grown that much more. We have served food and groceries to over 3,000 families and over 10,000 individuals in East Oakland and the greater East Bay. We have also given out $135K in cash grants for rent assistance, medical, household essentials, and childcare to 320+ households.
