Government Employees Insurance Company

Organization Description

The Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO) has been doing business since 1936 and has consistently received an A++ rating for financial stability from the A.M. Best Company, a leading independent analyst of the insurance industry. As this is Best's highest rating (received by only five percent of Property and Casualty companies), GEICO can accurately be described as one of the most financially sound automobile insurance companies in the world. Ever since our company’s formation, the GEICO name has been synonymous with outstanding service. Instead of using agents, we have marketed directly to customers. At first, those customers were exclusively government workers, but, in 1958, the company began serving other customers as well. In 1980, GEICO became the first insurer to provide 24-hour customer service. They come for the savings, but they stay for the service.
