Farm Lot 59 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2010 by Sasha Kanno. With the help of our founding board, local residents and the City of Long Beach the .6-acre farm was started. We are located on “historic lot number 59” in central Long Beach. Farm Lot 59 is a working organic farm, an educational center that is used to foster inspiration and exploration into food and farming.

Sasha and the community shared a vision to teach food and farming to the residents of Long Beach. They believed in the importance of knowing where your food comes from and access to fresh produce. From the very beginning we taught the importance of food production and the elimination of food miles. We pride ourselves on varietal choices picking only what grows best in our climate and passing on the knowledge of holistic farming principles.We teach farming based on organic principles to create food security through education, farmer training and cooking classes in collaboration with our local partners.

Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino ("FARSB") began in April 1980 as Survive Food Bank, distributing about 10,000 pounds of food per month and partnering with about 20 local nonprofit organizations. Today, FARSB distributes over 3.1 million pounds of food per month and partners with nearly 250 local nonprofit organizations. As we navigate the changing hunger landscape, we invite you to take part in working towards our mission of alleviating hunger in the Inland Empire.

University students will work directly with K-8 students in urban classroom settings. School has a diverse student population in terms of language, culture, gender and socio-economic background (minimum 27% of minority student population).

This site can only be used for a placement by College of Education (CED) clinical practice students granted a waiver to use hours of field work completed prior to taking the course that required fieldwork.

The Filipino Cultural School (FCS) strives to educate the youth about Philippine heritage through dance, music, culture, history, and social issues to create a sense of Filipino pride and identity, while creating a space of community through relationships and through discovering one’s identity.

The Filipino Migrant Center is a nonprofit organization based in Southern California. All our programs to the community are free, we serve Filipino immigrants, workers, youth, seniors, and families.
