Compassionate Care Hospice

Organization Description

Compassionate Care Hospice is a community-based organization committed to patients, their families and close friends in over 20 states throughout the country. We care for terminally ill patients with a wide range of illnesses including cancer, advanced cardiac disorders, advanced neurological disorders, multiple sclerosis, and any end stage disease. At Compassionate Care we are committed to quality of life, which enables patients to remain in the comfort and privacy of their own homes, with their loved ones.

Program Information

Compassionate Care Hospice volunteers act as friendly visitors to those patients in the final stages of life. They offer support for patients and families, bereavement support, and professional support if a student has the required licensure, such as massage or beautician services. Students will be visiting patients in a patient's home, providing companionship in nursing homes and other facilities, wherever the patient calls home. It can be an hour or two a week, or several days a month, all to make a difference in the lives of patients and families. If students live near our Glendale office, they can also support our staff here with various administrative activities. Bilingual students who speak Spanish are always needed as well.

Health & Safety

Students are trained on any safety and health issues that may arise while visiting patients. Students are also screened for TB prior to starting with Compassionate Care Hospice.
