The University of Maryland Eastern Shore REU in Marine and Estuarine Science ten-week summer internships to undergraduates interested in Marine and Estuarine Sciences. With the assistance of faculty mentors, program staff and graduate students, interns conduct research projects, take field trips, and attend seminars and workshops related to science careers. Interns benefit from instruction in topics such as scientific ethics, library resources for research, experimental design and data analysis, and scientific writing and communication. UPchieve is a free, online tutoring platform that connects low-income students in the US with volunteer tutors any time they need it. UPchieve has over 32 subjects tutors can get certified in to help bridge the learning gap for some of our nation's most underserved youth. To date, UPchieve has reached 109,000 students, 97% of whom reported our site helped improve their grades. With the support of CSU volunteer tutors and others like them, UPchieve aims to serve all 8 million low-income students by July 15th, 2030.
