Our mission to service Veterans and the Community of San Benito County.

The Veterans Transition Center provides services for Monterey County's homeless veterans with traditional housing, emergency services, and case management programs. Through these programs veterans will once again become employable, productive members of the community. VTC does not simply offer short term solutions to homelessness, it strives to better the lives of homeless veterans and aims to give them the tools they need to help themselves.

Many Veterans who served America with honor and distinction during times of war and peace now find themselves homeless. Helping these servicemen and women get off the streets and back on their feet is not giving them a handout. It is merely providing a down payment on a debt that can never adequately be repaid.

Vets 4 Vets is a Santa Cruz nonprofit that is made up of veterans and friends creating community and assisting our brothers and sisters in need.

Our mission is to empower, inspire and ensure equitable opportunities for every student to thrive. We teach and nurture the whole child in an academically rigorous, collaborative, and innovative environment.

For over 63 years, we have lived with the people we serve in the darkest corner of Salinas - the Chinatown area. Bringing the light of God's love to this area has been an incredible challenge - and a wonderful blessing.

Direct assistance to those in desperate need or are homeless

We serve the unhoused Community in the Historic Chinatown District, Old Town Salinas, Greater Salinas and Monterey County. We serve this community through a variety of outreach and donation.

Alisal Union School District operates eleven K-6 schools and partners with one Charter School in the most rapidly growing section of Salinas. In addition to our regular classroom teachers, our schools have certificated resource staff consisting of Bilingual Resource Teachers, Migrant Resource Teachers, Literacy Specialists, Instructional Coaches and Resource Specialists. Speech Therapists, Psychologists, School Nurses and Certified Nurses Assistants are also employed to provide additional resources to classroom teachers.

The Alisal Union School District currently serves about 7,700 students. Our multi-ethnic student population is distributed as follows:

• 94%  LCFF Unduplicated Count

• <1% each: African American, Asian, Filipino, Pacific Islander, two or more races
• 85%  Qualify for Free/Reduced-Priced Meals (although All of our students get free meals)

• 100% amazing students/our country's future leaders

We provide referral and coordination of community resources, assistance with advance health care directives and POLSTs, emotional support, provide education to patients on how to communicate with their medical team (what questions to ask, etc.). The Auxiliary program prefers a commitment of 100 service hours from Service Learning Students.
