Monterey Zoo

Organization Description

While providing exemplary animal care, Monterey Zoological Society is dedicated to providing an entertaining yet educational and conservation minded experience which fosters public awareness and respect for all wildlife.

Health & Safety

properly diluted and handled cleaning chemicals are used on property by staff and volunteers. There are sometimes construction equipment on property-when repairs are needed or new projects are being built- and often large machinery (tractors) being used around the property. volunteers are not expected to be directly interacting with either.

photography and videography is controlled an monitored on property. students will never be unsupervised around an animal but will be working with/around/in the proximity of many different species of animals, and are expected to to treat these animals with the utmost respect as beings and as 'wild' animals with the potential to cause accidental harm, and need to listen to keepers/supervisors at all times to ensure no accidents happen.
