Project Sanctuary
P.O. Box 450, Ukiah,, 95482
The mission of Project Sanctuary is to prevent domestic violence and sexual assault in Mendocino County through advocacy, crisis response, community collaboration, education, and shelter.
Project Sanctuary, Inc. is a private non-profit organization supported by state, local funds, and contributions from individuals. We began in the late 1970s by an all-volunteer group of women who started a confidential hotline. Quickly, the need for emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and a safe house was established in Ukiah. In the fall of 1980, rape crisis services were added to provide emergency response and counseling to survivors of sexual assault. In 1991, a crisis center in Fort Bragg was established, serving clients along the Mendocino Coast from Gualala to Westport. In 2005, prevention education services were added, establishing outreach to many school districts throughout the county. Over 2000 individuals are served each year by Project Sanctuary.

READYBAR
511 Telegraph Ave. #313, Oakland, 94609
OUR STORY
In 2024, after leading NASA’s food system for the International Space Station, I launched READYBAR with a simple goal: put a balanced meal in a bar.
Most bars are just snacks: sugar and protein powder in disguise. READYBAR is different. It’s a complete meal, built on the same principles we used to fuel astronauts.
READYBAR is for busy doers who need long-burning fuel when there’s no time to eat. One bar. One meal. We’re here for those who don’t stop and we’re just getting started.

Recognize Violence, Change Culture (RVCC)
P.O. Box 5473, Richmond, 94805
We are a national sexual violence prevention organization of a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We provide inclusive and easy-to-implement prevention tools and strategies to draw in your community, spark conversation, and build essential skills.
Our journey together began in the Redwoods of Northern California. Prior to RVCC, we were engaged in sexual violence prevention work at Cal Poly Humboldt. For eight years, our founder served as the sexual violence prevention coordinator, while the rest of us served as peer educators. Together, we developed CHECK IT, a nationally recognized bystander intervention program. CHECK IT was a game-changer for us. We witnessed incredible shifts happen on our campus. We went from having low student engagement to having over 300-500 students attend our consent-centered parties every year. Seeing cultural shifts like this inspired us to create RVCC. We know change is possible.
