Redwood Empire Veterans of Foreign War Post 1872: Eureka Veterans Memorial Hall
Eureka Veterans Memorial Hall - 1018 H Street, Eureka, 95501
The existing Eureka Veterans Memorial Building is a cast-in place concrete, steel, and wood building built in 1930. On Jan. 9, 2010, Humboldt County experienced an earthquake that damaged the Eureka Veterans Building, resulting in spalling of the concrete walls in many areas, extensive cracking, and damage to the roof and finishes. The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services committed to provided 75% of the Earthquake Damage Project costs.

Redwood Institute of Social Research (RISR) specializes in rigorous and ethically conscientious research consultation working in collaboration with public/private social service and mental health care providers in rural Northern California. Services include community-focused needs assessments, client-centered program development, and program evaluation. RISR also provides hands-on learning opportunities through higher-educational research mentorships to increase the skills of macro-focused social workers, sociologists, and social scientist aimed at improving social determinants of health.

Redwood Prep is governed by the non-profit organization, Dream It. Be It, Inc. (DIBI). Redwood Preparatory Charter School is a community-based education project initiated by parents, teachers, and community members. Through this charter school, the RPC founding committee seeks to increase learning opportunities for the children of the Eel River Valley. Redwood Prep provides local students and their families an academically rigorous, college-bound educational opportunity. The educational program is designed to be a child centered, project and inquiry-based, active learning environment aligned with the National Core Content and California State Standards. The founders base their curriculum on well-researched, proven instructional strategies and programs that support students academically, emotionally, and socially.
