Dorothy's Place - Franciscan Workers of Junipero Serra

Organization Description

Dorothy's Place is a hospitality center that provides homeless services for the Chinatown community of Salinas. Located across the train tracks from Downtown Salinas and the National Steinbeck Center, Chinatown is a fenced off community that has been historically marginalized and underserved.

For more than 3 decades, Dorothy's Place, operated by the Franciscan Workers of Junipero Serra, has been dedicated to serving people who experience homelessness, poverty, and marginalization in Monterey County. We have continued to expand our understanding of chronic homelessness with the desire to create a trauma-informed safety net and springboard for health and self-sufficiency.
