Organization Description

A Reason to Survive (ARTS) is a creative youth development organization based in National City, CA that is dedicated to providing, supporting and advocating for creative arts programs for youth and young adults ages 8-18. Through a combination of after-school classes and community-based art and design projects, ARTS connects young people with opportunities to explore their creative interests, build strong foundations of social-emotional well-being, grow meaningful relationships with peers and role models, and engage deeply with their own communities and the world around them. Our mission is to ignite the power of creativity in youth, inspiring them to overcome obstacles and providing them with the skills needed to become compassionate catalysts for positive change in themselves, their communities, and the world.
