Organization Description
The primary mission of the California Institution for Women (CIW) is to provide a safe and secure environment for incarcerated persons (IPs), to accommodate all custody levels (minimum to maximum security), to deliver quality health and mental health care, and to offer institutional programs specifically geared to meet the special needs of female offenders. CIW is accredited by The Joint Commission for Ambulatory Care, Behavioral Health Care, and Nursing Care Center Programs.
