CSD’s behavioral therapy techniques are grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a discipline devoted to understanding and improving socially significant behavior and reaching goals that matter. Through the use of ABA principles, we teach communication, flexibility, socialization, and daily living skills. We embrace opportunities to engage and participate in the communities we serve. By taking part in local events, disability charities, conferences, and activities with community partners, we can connect and have some fun with our clients, families, and their communities. We focus on improving social, communication, academic, and independent living skills in a positive, supportive environment through personalized and evidence-based behavioral services. Through diagnostic evaluations and a range of comprehensive therapies—including focused ABA, Speech, Occupational, and counseling services—we motivate individuals, from 12 months old through adulthood, to embrace learning by embedding therapy within their natural routines at home, in school, at our Centers, or out in the community. At CSD, we strive to open a world of possibilities for our clients and employees through diversity and inclusion. We are committed to cultivating a safe work environment that promotes acceptance and understanding at all levels of the organization. Everyone’s different background allows them to bring their unique skills and experiences to our team. At CSD, we encourage you to be TRUE to yourself, every step of the way.

Since then, Centro has widely expanded but is still located in the Fruitvale area. We now have four main programs: Tenants’ Rights, Immigrants’ Rights, and Workers’ Rights, and a Youth Law Academy to support high school students of color in pursuing ambitions towards legal careers. Additionally, we practice affirmative litigation in state and federal courts, including class actions. Centro provides legal services and education, and engages in policy advocacy and representation for low-income, immigrant communities and communities of color in the East Bay. We are grounded in five core values which guide our work with the community: Justice: overcoming systemic barriers towards action for equality Empowerment: building leadership and power from within, supporting clients to exercise their rights Compassion: listening to community needs and centering our work around our clients’ voices Integrity: representing the community with dignity Inclusion: embracing a diverse community built from a multitude of experiences, acknowledging individual perspectives and expanding access to legal services
