With exceptionally low student-to-teacher ratios and a deep focus on personalized lesson planning, our expertly trained instructors tailor content and adapt instructional methods to each child’s math level, learning style, and pace. This makes DLC an ideal complement to larger daytime school math classes. Students receive exactly the support they need—whether advanced challenges or targeted reinforcement of foundational skills—in intimately sized groups of peers at similar levels, giving them the space and confidence to explore math joyfully without pressure. Rather than relying on rote drills, students build true mathematical fluency through conceptual exploration, puzzles, and hands-on challenges—making math both rigorous and joyful. At the heart of our program is a deep commitment to offering schools a high-quality enrichment option.

Destiny Arts Center’s mission is to inspire and ignite social change through the arts. For over 35 years, Destiny has been committed to supporting young people as they develop their skills as artists, global citizens, and advocates for peace in their communities and beyond. Through dance and martial arts, young people learn to perform and express themselves, overcome challenges, and connect with others. Destiny partners with over 50 schools and organizations each year to bring programs to young people. At our North Oakland Arts Center, we offer pay-what-you-can, after-school, weekend, and summer programs in the martial arts and performing arts for young people ages 3-18. Social Work students placed with Destiny Arts Center engage in direct service, youth development, and community-based healing, while supporting C.A.R.E. team wraparound support as part of a vibrant, trauma-informed learning environment.

Diablo Valley Foundation for the Aging is a not-for-profit corporation providing community service to seniors in Contra Costa County since 1975. Founded by a group of community leaders including Dean S. Lesher, former publisher of the Contra Costa Times, and Katharine M. Grant, a social worker, the Foundation is committed to providing vital services to aging persons who are at risk because they are alone, isolated, pressed by financial problems, or are confused. The focus of our organization is to prevent inappropriate institutionalization of elders by providing the necessary support to maintain them in the community. Comprised of dedicated professionals and volunteers, we enable older adults to live with as much independence and freedom as possible.
