The Berkeley Historical Society, founded in the summer of 1978 from the ad-hoc Berkeley Centennial Celebration Committee, is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that maintains the Berkeley History Center and online offerings. The mission of the Berkeley Historical Society is to foster appreciation and understanding of our city’s unique history by residents and visitors alike through research, collection, preservation, exhibition and publication of historical records, photographs, artifacts and other media.

Students will gain experience working with children in our play-based setting. They will assist classroom teachers in preparing the classroom and outdoor environment, to provide children with materials to engage the mind, body, and spirit. They will develop skills in following the child's lead and extending the play....

Our urgent and essential mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. We pair young people referred to our program by parents, guardians, teachers and social workers with a screened, qualified volunteer adult mentor through a comprehensive matching process, which emphasizes compatibility, commitment, and child safety.

Our vision is for a robust and vibrant renaissance in legacy Black communities; vibrant, thriving Black Arts, Cultural and Commercial areas in a thriving economy; an ecosystem anchored by Black Arts, Culture and Commerce; and collective power that assures our inalienable human right to love, health, wellness, belonging, power, safety and self- determination. The mission of the Black Cultural Zone CDC is to unapologetically center Black arts, culture and economics as we collectively design, resource, transform and build collective power for our communities.

At Blackberry Academy Outdoor Preschool, we believe in a play-based and place-based approach that seamlessly integrates with the natural world. Our philosophy centers on fostering children’s innate curiosity and allowing them to thrive both cognitively and emotionally.

Botanical Community Development Initiatives is a grassroots organization dedicated to nurturing connections with plants and fostering a more peaceful, equitable, and regenerative planet. Their work is deeply rooted in environmental justice and community science, focusing on land-based initiatives that empower communities, particularly those facing environmental disparities. Through key projects like The Plant Lab, The Milpa Initiative, Greening Spaces, and EquiTable Food, they aim to enhance seed sovereignty, promote climate resilience, improve community health, and ensure equitable food access.

The mission of the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastside (BGCC) is to enable all Coastside youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. In 2022 we served over 900 youth and close to 4,000 Coastsiders with programs and facilities. Now to build upon 27 years of service are excited to build even more positive partnerships to support our youth on the Coast.

As the local clean air and healthy lungs leader, Breathe California of the Bay Area fights lung disease in all its forms and works with its communities to promote lung health. We envision a world that promotes healthy lungs and a healthy environment. We believe in leadership through passion, integrity, excellence, accountability, and fiscal/social responsibility.​​
