BUILD.org is a national education nonprofit that began in the Bay Area twenty-five years ago. During this time, BUILD has been igniting the power of youth in under-resourced communities to build Career Success, Entrepreneurial Mindsets, and Opportunity. We help students become the CEO of their own lives! In the past year, BUILD has served 2,900 students from Oakland to NYC in our Core Program. BUILD partners with under-resourced schools to teach high school students how to launch their own business, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, and expand their social capital. BUILD has a dynamic volunteer opportunity in which Business Team Coaches support high school students during the school year, from September to May/June. Coaches are placed in one of our partner schools in Oakland or Redwood City.
Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS)

BOSS develops solutions to mass homelessness, mass incarceration and community violence and is dedicated to the inclusion of people marginalized by addiction, trauma, criminality, incarceration, poverty, racism, sexism, homelessness and violence.

Richard J Donovan Correctional Facility (RJDCF) is one of the CA Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation facilities that houses approximately 3000 inmate-patients. RJDCF has one of the largest health care systems in all CDCR institutions, with a large mental health department that employs recreational therapists among its staff. This staff also includes psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers. The mission of the California Correctional Health Care System (CCHCS) is to reduce unnecessary morbidity and mortality and protect the public health by providing inmate-patients with timely access to safe, efficient health care, and to coordinate the delivery of medical care with mental health, dental, and disability programs. CCHCS strives to facilitate the successful reintegration of the individuals in our care back to their communities equipped with the tools to be drug-free, healthy, and employable members of society by providing education, treatment, rehabilitative, and restorative justice programs, all in a safe and humane environment.

Canopy Center is a child abuse treatment and prevention agency created in 1977 by a young mother. She had been abused as a child and the impact this abuse was having on her own parenting methods led her to bring a national parent support group model to Madison. The agency started as a grassroots effort to serve families in Dane County. Over the past 40+ years, the agency has grown and changed in respect to research-based methodologies and prevailing needs of families in our community. Today, the Canopy Center serves over 500 people annually through our programs - the Oasis family sexual abuse treatment program, CASA of Dane and Columbia Counties (CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocates), and the Parent to Child supervised visitation program.

Advocates accompany youth to court hearings and submit detailed reports on their progress and needs. They make referrals to necessary services and communicate with service providers and treatment team members.
