Chicas Verdes Corp
, Los Angeles,
VISION
We want to help create a world where young people understand the connection they have to nature and each other and are prepared to live up to the responsibilities of being a good global citizen.
MISSION
Chicas Verdes builds socially-minded leaders by fostering young peoples’ connection to nature.
About
Chicas Verdes empowers students to create healthy, sustainable systems in their communities through eliminating disparities in four areas: food access, green space, water quality, and waste management. Chicas Verdes has a three pronged approach for making an impact on personal, environmental, and community health; we develop community awareness, create systems to improve access to resources, and model behavioral change. Students grow their own food in school gardens, run farmers markets, and put on healthy habit workshops for community members. Through these social justice initiatives, students learn entrepreneurship skills that they use to improve their own lives and the community they live in.
