The mission of the Hollister School District is to prepare each student for future success. Hollister is a growing community that still offers its residents the solitude of beautiful hills, open meadows, and a safe and relaxing quality of life. The Hollister School District is committed to academic excellence. The board-adopted guiding principles for the district are:

The district serves a student population of about 5,500 students. Around 40% of our student are English Learners. Much effort is given to support effective instruction practices which provide our students with a child-centered, standards-based education that also creates critical, creative thinkers. With open communication between schools and the community, strong support from parents, and clearly defined educational goals, we believe that all children will have the opportunity to meet their full potential and be productive members of society.

Service Learning Opportunities are flexible to allow for varied interests and schedules. We have opportunities to learn about gardening or to work at special events. We have a Downtown Holiday Store that is set up each holiday season in downtown Santa Cruz to raise awareness and funds for our job...

The Ocean Education Station (OES) is a free education station that allows the general public to explore their scientific curiosities with professional biologists and marine scientists.
