Program Sites

Nyamboyo Technical School (NTS) is a community-based, three-year vocational school for teens ages 14-20. We provide free vocational education in four technical fields in rural Nyamboyo Village, Kenya. Our mission is to build a prosperous future for Nyamboyo’s youth, who live in great poverty, through vocational education, business experience, and community engagement.

All K-12 school districts require TB testing and some form of background checking (Livescan fingerprinting; Meagan’s List check; etc.). This district’s background check requires TB Test, Livescan, & Vaccinations.

Interns are assigned to a school site and lead individual and group counseling services to identified students. Interns completing a PPS Credential may complete all learning requirements within our district. Alisal Union School District operates eleven K-6 schools and partners with one Charter School in the most rapidly growing section of Salinas. In addition to our regular classroom teachers, our schools have certificated resource staff consisting of Bilingual Resource Teachers, Migrant Resource Teachers, Literacy Specialists, Instructional Coaches and Resource Specialists. Speech Therapists, Psychologists, School Nurses and Certified Nurses Assistants are also employed to provide additional resources to classroom teachers.

The Alisal Union School District currently serves about 7,700 students. Our multi-ethnic student population is distributed as follows:

The OMNI Resource Center offers peer-led programs promoting wellness and recovery, as well as recreational and social opportunities. Wellness programs are free and open to anyone with mental health challenges. Programs are also offered off-site at other community locations. No referral is necessary.
