California Children's Services (CCS) is a program that assists children who have a serious medical condition and require specialty medical care. The program offers Physical and Occupational Therapy services for children with medically eligible conditions and diagnoses. There are 5 Medical Therapy Units within Alameda County where the therapeutic services are administered. They are in East Oakland, West Oakland, Livermore, San Lorenzo, and Fremont. CCS provides medical case management to low-income children under 21 years of age with chronic and disabling medical conditions. CCS can help arrange and pay for hospital stays and doctor visits, medical equipment, medication, and other services. CCS strives to ensure that children receive appropriate and comprehensive care.
If you are interested in applying for an internship with this program, please express interest to the below contact, via email, at least 2.5 months in advance. If selected, it can take up to 2 months for the intern to go through the onboarding process, which may include fingerprinting, a physical, and a background check. If you express interest less than the requested 2.5 months, then you may not hear back from the program contact.
