Bodyfree LLC / Sylvia Chrisney, CMT, CPT
989 I Street, Suite D, Arcata, 95521
I’ve owned a private practice in Arcata for over 14 years, where I focus on treating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. My work includes extensive hands-on therapy - soft tissue release, cupping, taping, corrective exercises, and mobility routines. I’ve had the privilege of working with professional athletes internationally and was the lead recovery coach for a Guinness World Record. Locally, I collaborate with John Schmidt PT, Skye Heston MD, Lee Lear MD, and Sarah Landis DPT, among others.
In addition to my hands-on therapy practice, I also offer business coaching for small healthcare practices, covering areas like social media marketing, website design, EHR setup, and everything involved in building a small business from the ground up.
I’m especially excited about the opportunity to work with Kinesiology students at Cal Poly Humboldt. Throughout my career mentorships have been incredibly important to my growth and development as a professional. I’ve had the opportunity to learn from amazing athletic coaches, manual therapists, and physical therapists who have worked with both professional NBA and NFL players, as well as the local Humboldt community. I’m eager to share that experience with the students and help them develop their skills.

Bravo Personal Care - Social Work-Only Empl-Based Placement
2377 Gold Meadow Way, Gold River, 95670
Founded with Compassion, Built on Trust
Bravo Personal Care Services began in 2016, inspired by Janet Phillips, LCSW, and her personal experience of caring for her father at home for 12 years. Janet saw the gaps in affordable, reliable home care and set out to create a service that prioritizes dignity, compassion, and quality.
From its humble beginnings as a one-person operation, Bravo has grown into a trusted provider of non-medical home care services for seniors, veterans, and their families in Sacramento. Our mission is to help seniors age safely and comfortably at home while staying connected to their loved ones and community.
At Bravo, we recruit, train, and monitor caregivers to ensure the highest standards of care. Our team assists with both Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), addressing a wide range of needs, including:
- Bathing, dressing, grooming, and ambulation.
- Cooking, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and transportation.
By offering post-hospitalization support and working closely with discharge plans, we help clients reduce hospital readmissions and transition safely back to their homes.

Bright Futures for Youth is a community-focused nonprofit organization committed to addressing the ever-changing needs of youth, from sixth-graders to those in their mid-20s in Nevada County.
Teens and adolescents face many challenges and many changes that are part of growing up. It’s a time to figure out who they are, what they value and hope to achieve. A little extra support, tools and resources along the way can make a big difference and help youth overcome obstacles. There certainly are more challenges today than when we started in 1995.
Bright Futures for Youth, created by the merger of The Friendship Club and NEO in summer 2020, has three programs to address the issues and help youth in numerous ways, from after-school programs and a drop-in Youth Center to ensuring access to services. Our focus areas are health and wellness, healthy relationships, goal setting, self-awareness, self-sufficiency and community connectedness.
We’re about helping youth today to ensure a better future for tomorrow.
