The County Archives program is a section of the Assessor/Recorder/Clerk in San Diego County. Our primary mission is to serve as the central repository for the permanent retention of the official records of the Recorder/Clerk’s office. We facilitate access through the arrangement, description, management and preservation of these records, pursuant to sections 27300(a), 27231, and 66466(e) of the Government Code. Our holdings include approximately 600 cubic ft. of official and historic vital records, over 170,000 sheets of maps, and a microfilm collection with over 100,000 rolls from across County departments.
