Our staff consists of over 150 professionals and support staff who deliver programs and services that are community-oriented, culturally responsive, and built on promising practices and evidence-based approaches in their respective fields. We strive to recruit qualified employees who mirror our participating families; over 75% of our direct service staff is bilingual in English and Spanish, and most are bicultural as well. By building relationships with families and their children, we let clients know someone cares and is invested in their well-being and their future. We then empower families with information and resources and provide a place for them to heal. It is through this environment of trust that our clients feel safe to return to Bienvenidos for help with other issues. In so doing, we are not only able to prepare individuals and families for long-term success, but we are also impacting the greater community.

Conduct policy advocacy on CLRJ's legislative priorities such as, mobilizing to pass a state resolution in recognition of Young Families (particularly pregnant and parenting adolescents), supporting CLRJ's work to ensure that national immigration reform efforts be inclusive of the needs of women, individuals of all backgrounds, gender identities and sexuality, and their families, etc;.

CARECEN maintains relationships with public and private universities and other academic institutions in California and across the U.S.-Mexico border. Through these relationships, CARECEN provides internships and fellowships that allow students majoring in political science, anthropology, sociology, law, communications, and other disciplines to gain work experience in the social justice arena.

The objectives of the East Los Angeles Community Youth Center (ELACYC) are to provide academic and recreational programs designed for at-risk youth between the ages of 7 to 17. Our goal is to promote the values of family, community, individual responsibility and citizenship.
Programs and Services Offered
The ELACYC serves children ages 5-17. It is a safe haven for more than 1,000 young people and their families accessing the educational and fitness programs each year.The current scope of services are divided into four areas: Tutorial Assistance,The arts, sports and physical fitness and Family Services.
- Learning and Arts Center provides after-school educational and academic resources such as homework assistance, computer learning, tutoring, arts, crafts, and social activities.
- Athletic facilities include a Basketball Center, Boxing Center, Aquatics Center and Racquetball Court.
- There are plans to include nutrition, health and leadership programs to enhance the ELACYC's overall program delivery. All programs promote the value of family and personal responsibilty.
