The probation department serves all of Shasta County with a $9.5 million budget and 96 full-time and part-time staff. We operate a 56 bed juvenile hall, as well as supervise approximately 1900 adult felons and 320 juvenile wards of the court. We conduct investigations and prepare reports for the Shasta County Juvenile and Superior Courts. We operate specialized programs that address criminal behavior and problems including the adult Addicted Offender Program, Sex Offender Program, and Community Service Program. Juvenile programs include intensive services for mentally ill offenders and those with substance abuse problems.
