The Citizenship Coalition’s mission is to support immigrants in successfully becoming U.S. citizens by providing free, personalized tutoring and guidance for the naturalization process. Through a nationwide network of volunteers, the organization aims to make citizenship more accessible, reduce barriers to the USCIS test, and empower individuals to fully participate in their communities.

The City of Fremont is the municipality that serves the population of Fremont 240,000 people in a 92 mile area. The Patterson House is an historic house (1857-1920) located in Ardenwood Historic Farm, a 205-acre park that is owned by the City of Fremont and leased by the East Bay Regional Park District. The Pattersons were a prominent local family who prospered in California, the patriarch came to the Golden State during the Goldrush.

The City of San José is a full-service public agency covering critical functions from the airport to the zoo for nearly one million residents and countless visitors year-round. The City has over 20 different departments and offices while employing over 7,000 employees.

The City recognizes the opportunity for meaningful learning experiences through community engagement that formally integrates students academic study with practical experience within the operations of a cooperating organization. Students will be assigned to a City department to participate in various short-term and project-based work (“Assigned Learning Site”) and activities will vary depending on the learning experiences available by the host department.

The City promotes well-being and enhances the quality of life for local residents through a range of parks, facilities, and educational and entertainment programs and services.

Student Intersm will be interacting with patients; setting up exercises for the various injuries; work with the various exercise modalities and equipment in the clinic; understand the paperwork related to running a PT clinic; perform ultrasound and other pain relief modalities; and learn to set up patient files.
